Bob is presenting at the SBDC's Automate Your Marketing workshop.

The Small Business Development Corporation — the WA Government body that runs training, advice, and support services for small business owners across Western Australia — has asked Bob Jones to present their upcoming Automate Your Marketing workshop. Registrations are managed by the SBDC directly.

The SBDC has run its small business workshop program for decades. Getting on the schedule is not a marketing exercise — they vet presenters and topics based on what WA business owners actually need right now. That they chose AI-driven marketing automation as the topic, and brought in an independent practitioner to run it, says something about where the conversation in small business is heading.

What the workshop covers.

The session focuses on using AI tools to automate the marketing work that most small business owners are still doing manually — or not doing at all because they don't have the time. That means content, copy, ads, emails, and the planning that usually falls off the bottom of the list when the real work is busy.

The framing is practical: what can you actually hand off, what needs your voice and judgement, and how do you set the tool up so it stops producing the same generic output everyone else is getting? The same thread runs through the SkillBuild AI workshop — brief well, review carefully, approve and move on.

Free for WA small business owners.

This is an SBDC-run event. It is free to attend and seats are registered through the SBDC website — not this one. If you are based in Western Australia and want to come along, the link below goes to the official event listing where you can check the date, time, and register your spot.

Bob also runs a separate workshop — on a different topic.

Codex for Business Owners is a paid workshop through SkillBuild AI, specifically about setting up Codex — an AI tool from OpenAI — on your real business. Different topic to the SBDC session, different format, different audience. The SBDC event doesn't cover Codex.

The two are not related. They happen to share an instructor.

SkillBuild AI is independent. Bob Jones is not affiliated with the SBDC, the WA Government, or any AI vendor. The SBDC invited him to present in his capacity as an AI practitioner working with small business owners.
